Diego set up Bodega La Senda in 2012 in a tiny space on the outskirts of his hometown, Ponferrada. Millions of years ago, the valley of Bierzo was an inland sea, and each of Diego’s plots represents a different scattering of minerals – clay or calcareous with slate, iron, gold or quartz. He produces wines that are honest, uncompromising and naturally expressive.
Trousseau is different from the usual Trosseau found in Jura, a heavier wine, but here, given light extraction to produce a thrillingly fruit-forward wine.
Grapes: 100% Trousseau
ABV: 12.5%
Region: Castilla y León, Spain
