Julien Albertus of Kumpf et Meyer makes his wines as naturally as possible in a local cave on the outskirts of Rosheim—its cool climate perfect for production. In this region of Alsace, near the German border, aromatic wines reign supreme
This ‘Badinerie’ is a beautiful expression of Albertus’ passion for his Alsace vines. 100% Pinot Auxerrois grown in marl and limestone soil. Most of the vines were planted in 1985. The grapes were destemed, followed by 4 days of skin contact. After pressing, the juice was aged for a year in stainless steel vats. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulfites.
Grapes: 100% Auxerrois
Alsace, France
ABV: 13%
