Bencze Autochton 2019
Notes of key lime, pear, some tropical hints of mango - it is slightly wild but in all the good ways. Aromatic, mineral and fresh, it has subtle tannins on the finish. According to the winemaker István Bencze, "The name comes from Greek ‘autokhthon’ which means aboriginal or native. That is why we made this blend exclusively from native varieties of the Carpathian Basin, all of them from our precious ’Templomdombi’ plot.” The grapes were harvested in various times according to their optimal ripening. Half of the Hárslevelű was de-stemmed into open fermenters, where it stayed for 8 days. No filtration and no additions.
35% Furmint, 49% Hárslevelű, 16% Kéknyelű
